History

PACE Youth Programs Inc. was founded in 2000 out of a desire to help youth released from juvenile detention facilities effectively reintegrate into society.

Mr. Holloway, CEO & Founder of PACE Youth, is committed to providing a network of support to delinquent youth. The first PACE class began on January 3, 2001 with 7 youth and 10 volunteers. In 2002, the Texas Youth Commission took note of the program’s success and a partnership between PACE and TYC was formed. Since 2001 when the program started, more than 2800 youth and parents have enrolled in PACE, and the organization has been a growing partner with the Harris County Juvenile Probation department for more than 12 years.

PACE continues to gain recognition and financial support from various community organizations and businesses including Wells Fargo, Energy Alloys, Exxon/Mobil, Wheeler Ave Baptist Church, Kingwood Psychiatric, Kingwood Pines Hospital, Smith Materials and others.

Over the years, PACE has been recognized with numerous awards, including:

  • The Unsung Heroes for Houston Children award by Children at Risk
  • The Texas Governor’s Award in 2003 from Texas Governor Rick Perry
  • The Education Award from the Houston/Harris County Ecumenical Council.
  • The Hanging Tough Friends of Friends Positive Influential Male award from the City of Houston
  • PACE was named the Outstanding Group of the Year from the Texas Youth Commission.

From its Board of Directors to its coaches, volunteers and sponsors, PACE has a compassionate and dedicated team willing to do whatever it takes to help change children’s lives for the better.
